Playground & General FAQ

WOW Kids Playground is located in the heart of San Francisco. The address is 1650 Polk Street, San Francisco, CA 94109. We are walking distance to Pacific Heights, Russian Hill, Nob Hill, Downtown and Chinatown.

There is NO ONSITE PARKING available at WOW Kids Playground. The playground is situated in an older boutique building in the Polk District without on-site parking. We apologize for the inconvenience. We accept the following major credit cards: MasterCard, VISA, American Express, Discover, debit cards, and cash. We do not accept personal or business checks unless pre-approval by management.

Our play structures are designed with transfer steps, transfer platforms, elevated ramps and handrails to accommodate ADA Playground Accessibility guidelines.

WOW Kids Playground does not provide wheelchairs or strollers, but the entrance from outside is ADA wheelchair and stroller accessible.

WOW Kids Playground maintains a strict sick child/adult policy because sick children and adults will expose all others they come in contact with.  Therefore, WOW Kids Playground reserves the right to deny entry or request you or your child to leave the facility if you or your child is visibly sick. For the health and well-being of our staff members and other patrons, please re-schedule your visit if you or your child experience any of the following: Cold Symptoms or Fever (over 100 degrees F), Diarrhea or Vomiting, Frequent Itching of Scalp, Body Lice, Rash, or Ring Worm.

We sanitize every attraction with eco-friendly products every day and have on-going sanitization during opening hours. 

We will observe the following Federal holidays:

Many of these Holiday days above land on weekdays so please be aware those days will be charged Holiday general admission rates & Holiday birthday/event party rates. We reserve the right to include or exclude more holidays if necessary, but this is our current list.

Our playground is appropriate for kids once they can walk up to 17 years of age. Our structures are designed to hold adults so we encourage parents and children to play and have fun together.

Upon entry, you will be issued a wristband. Please keep wristband on during your duration of the playground visit. The wristband will allow in and out access for the SAME DAY only.

All kids should wear comfortable clothing as that is the easiest for children to navigate through the playground. Longer pants are better than shorts so you don’t stick going down the fast slides.

For sanitary and safety reasons, rubber-bottom grip socks are required and shoes are not allowed in the playground area. Shoe storage bins are located at the entrance of the playground. For the safety of all children playing in the playground structures and toddler area, all guests including children and adults must have rubber-bottom grip socks (yoga socks).

 

Grip socks are required to enter the playground area. We sell them for $3.00/pair at the front desk. Bringing your own grip sock may not be sufficient as it may not be specifically tailored for an indoor playground use as ours is, but you can inquire on the details with the front desk staff.

No. We ask all guests to refrain from eating and drinking in the playground and toddler areas. Food and drinks pose sanitary and safety risks in the playground area.

NO! All children must be supervised by parent(s), guardian(s) or caretaker(s). WOW Kids Playground is an unsupervised play facility.

Upon entry, you are given a wrist band. We suggest each child’s wristband has the parent’s phone number for emergencies and identification. Unless you are attending a birthday party, no adults (ages 18+ years or older) are allowed entry without a child into our facility. We have an exit gate to prevent children from running out on their own. Children will only be allowed to leave the facility in the presence of a parent/guardian with a matching identifier.

Yes! WOW Kids Playground is a “Play At Your Own Risk” facility. All guests must read and sign a waiver before entry.

 

NO EXCEPTIONS! You may sign our waiver online or when you arrive at the playground. Signing a waiver online will save you time before you arrive so this will speed your check-in process to enter the playground.

Party Package-Related FAQ

WOW Kids Playground offers several party packages and options to fit your needs and budget. All parties must be booked in advance. There are four different ways to book an event:

Cancellation Policy

In the event the Party Host cancels prior to the initial arrival date of the event, WOW Kids Playground will necessarily incur damages including, but limited to, turning away other group events and the ancillary revenue associated with those events.  The Party Host shall have the right to cancel the party, without cause, upon written notification to WOW Kids Playground at any time prior to the party and upon the payment of the amount expressed below:

Cancellation notice received 14 day PRIOR to event date:

Cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the total booking amount

Cancellation notice received 14 days AFTER to event date or no shows:

Cancellation fee equivalent to full contracted value of the event.

Deposit Policy

Parties are reserved and confirmed with a non-refundable $200.00 deposit (Basic Package) or $400.00 deposit (Premier Package).  Deposit for Ultimate Package varies.  The balance is due two weeks before  the day of the party.  Party event will not start unless balance is paid in full.  Rescheduling is possible, when available.  We will need to receive final details including the total number of guests and any other changes 72 hours prior to your party start time.

We are unable to do any partial refund if the number of guests falls below the confirmed number.

Yes, any child guest attending the party counts towards the 15. This includes the birthday party child.

Our parties follow a 3-hour itinerary – 2hours in your private party room and 3 hours of concurrent play time.

Our parties begin on the hour from 10am to closing.  Please advise guests to be punctual.

Here is a sample itinerary for a 10am-1pm:

Party Check-In & Set Up: 10am-11:00am

  • Arrival – Check in and pay your balance 
  • Guests sign waivers, get grip socks and wristbands.  Have guests sign waivers online to save time
  • Place your gifts in the designated cart
  • Assigned party host setting up extra decorations & food in the party room
  • Playtime! in Playground

Party Time: 11:00am – 12:00pm

  • Pizza, food and cake 
  • Plates and utensils will be included
  • Sing Happy Birthday & cake
  • Room time completes at end of two hours, 12pm. Your items must be removed from the party room so we can prepare for the next guest
  • Carts are available to take items to the car as needed
  • Remaining time available for party guests and families to play after the party room session

We start check-in 15-30 minutes before the scheduled start time, so feel free to arrive around that time. If you arrive any earlier, your party room may be unavailable due to other parties in progress. But please be aware there may still be a slight wait time before your party is allowed entry to your assigned party room as guests from previous time slot we will have to wait for their exit before you can go in.

The party sessions are fixed. We encourage you to remind your guests to arrive promptly at the stipulated time as there will be no extension of party game if guests arrive late.

Good food and drinks can make a lasting impression on guests who will associate your event with positive memories. At WOW Kids Playground, we have all the essential amenities to host the perfect party.

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, EXCEPT for alcoholic beverages and ice cream cakes. The playground has no alcoholic license, and we wish to keep a children-friendly environment. We do not have extra freezers to keep the ice cream from melting, and we do not allow outside coolers.

Chafing fuel cans and cooking are not allowed in the party rooms.

No. Only reserved parties are allowed to bring in a celebratory dessert.

Yes, if your child has special needs, please let us know upon booking your party so that we can make the appropriate accommodations and inform your Party Attendant.

Make your special event extra special. Each party package already has a predetermined set of features & price. However, you can make your special event extra special by adding party add-ons, from playground buyouts, arcade game cards, extra balloon arches, balloon centerpieces, special theme decorations, boba drinks, ice cream, popcorn & more to create a party your child and guests will love and remember. 

Parties come with a standard or themed set of decorations, which include a tablecloth, plates, napkins, & plasticware, depending on which party package you choose. You are welcome to bring your own decorations for your child’s party if necessary. But please no decoration on the walls to avoid wall paint damages. In addition, no glitter, confetti, silly string or piñatas! Please take away your decorations when the party is over.

Yes, a party attendant/host will take care of everything you need for an unforgettable event. Party attendants will do everything to make your party run smoothly, including set-up, clean-up, serve pizza, food, cake and drinks, and sing Happy Birthday.

Charges will be based on actual consumption plus 18% service charge the day of the event. Per California State law, the mandatory 18% service charge is taxable, while a voluntary gratuity is not taxable. Your final event invoice will automatically include the 18% service charge. However, if you feel the service was exceptional, you are welcome to tip additionally. You may directly give this extra tip to our party staff or see us at the front counter. All additional gratuities go back to our party staff.

WOW Kids Playground is the perfect venue for Birthday Parties, School Parties, Church Parties, Fundraisers, Baby Showers, Graduations, Family Events, Team Celebrations, Bar Mitzvahs, Christmas Parties, Easter Parties, Halloween Parties, New Years Eve Parties, Company Parties, & Community Events just to name a few.

No. You will need to provide your own invitations. You can use an invitation service like Evite, which provides a free & an upgraded paid premium version invitation e-cards.

Yes! We do parties 7 days a week. Our weekday party rates are lower than weekend rates, with the exception if a Holiday day we observe lands on a weekday (Mon.-Fri.), then that Holiday will be subjected to the Weekend/Holiday rates schedule. Who would think that a child’s birthday party could generate such an etiquette question? Gifts are an important part of a child’s birthday. Experts encourage children to open gifts at home to avoid making some guests uncomfortable and prevent damages to the gifts. With limited time, kids would rather be upstairs playing.
